This show is $20, but I absolutely believe that it’s worth every penny. The Walkmen and Beach House are two of the most top-notch musical acts playing today. They’re very different from each other, and it’s exciting to see them on one bill. It’s almost like a little mini music festival happening right at Webster Hall. The Walkmen’s 2008 album, You & Me is such a good standard indie album that I now can’t help but compare a lot of new bands I hear to the Walkmen. It’s just so…archetypal. And Beach House, I really can’t say enough good things about Beach House. They’re one of the leaders of the burgeoning Baltimore scene. They pioneered the gently engineered, floating-along lo-fi sound before anyone else in this current round of the fad was doing it. And from their myspace page, openers Wild Light don’t sound half bad, though they are going on tour with the Killers. I’ve included great tracks from both the Walkmen and Beach House below, just in case you haven’t heard them yet.

Hey,
Check out MAGNET magazine (if you haven’t already…I am working there this semester)…we have a bunch of free MP3s and articles about pretty much all of the bands you mention.
