I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. I know I did, except for the break from blogging. I didn’t have too much time to myself to use the computer at my parent’s house, but I’m back in the BK now. There were a lot of good shows over the weekend I’m sorry to have missed. This show tomorrow at The Annex should make up for it, though. Considering The Annex is usually a pretty crazy dance club, it’s a strange venue for one of my absolute favorite new bands, Real Estate, to play. My band has played there, and it’s kind of a weird vibe for an indie show. I think the juxtaposition of the club’s normal purposes and Real Estate’s laid-back dreamy soundscapes will actually make for a pretty cool, quirky show. So if you haven’t seen them yet, now is the time to go.
On a side note, I just got guitarist Matt Mondanile’s solo project’s (Ducktails) first LP, and it’s amazing. I can’t stop spinning it. It’s the perfect album for summer. I highly recommend it, and you can get it right here.
