There are ten bands playing at Death By Audio tonight, and I only know one of them. Lesser Gonzalez Alvarez is a freak folkster from Baltimore. I only know him because I like to play his tracks on my New Weird America radio show once in awhile. He’s just a guy with a guitar, but his songs are sweet and a little strange. His latest album, Why Is Bear Billowing is at the very least beautiful, even if it’s not an utter stand-out. I’m willing to bet that at least some of the other acts on the bill are very good, too. This could be a perfect opportunity to discover some great new folk bands.
