I love Death Vessel. I saw them at CMJ last fall, and instantly fell in love with the bizarre, androgynous quality of his voice. Combine that with his excellent folk-writing sensibility, and you have one very entertaining live show. For a band name with such a depressingly vivid image (a vessel filled with death?), their songs are actually filled to the brim with happy folk strumming and a multitude of instruments. Plus, it’s at the Bell House. A highly recommended show. Listen to an mp3 below.
