This show is pricey at $30 a ticket, but it’s just so darn cool. First of all, in case you aren’t familiar, Dinosaur Jr have been around since 1984 and are known as some of the first pioneers of guitar-drenched indie rock. They broke up in 1997 only to reunite in 2005. Many times when older classic bands reunite it’s always a little disappointing. Their new material never seems to measure up. But Dinosaur Jr are still making incredibly creative and relevant music. Their brand-new album Farm is very good. You can hear a track from it below.
If Dinosaur Jr are the old veterans, it’s incredibly appropriate to have Screaming Females open for them on this tour. Hopefully at the other end of a long career, I haven’t been able to stop listening to Screaming Females’ album since I saw them at Market Hotel a few weeks ago. If Dinosaur Jr weren’t enough on their own, these New Jersey rockers should seal the deal.

‘Farm’ is excellent. That is all.
