Finally, this week is starting to heat up. This is an intensely good lineup tomorrow night at the Bell House. I 100% plan on being there. 1. The Bell House is awesome. 2. I booked My Teenage Stride at Olde Club nearly two years ago now, and they’re one of those “little Brooklyn bands who could,” which I’m very glad to see are still kicking around. They play pleasant indie-popish tunes, and Jedediah Smith seems to have a steady, constant style of songwriting that I think anyone can enjoy. 3. The Drums. I went to go see them at The Annex several weeks ago after Brooklyn Vegan said their first show at Popfest was, like, just the best thing ev-er. It was pretty darn close. Their tunes dangerously flirt with the Flock of Seagulls line, but they’re so much fun that two minutes into their set you’ll just stop caring about the overtly-80s feel. 4. Paul and the Patients are Brooklyn up-and-comers, who sound kind of like they’re from the UK in the early 2000s. I like what I’ve heard from them so far, and their song “Blogspot” has a nice humor and awareness to it. You can check that out below. All in all, an incredibly solid line-up.
