Recommended Thursday Show: Eternal Summers at Cameo

It’s been a slow week so far, but it seems like every show is crammed into Thursday and Friday night.  This is definitely the sort of evening where show hopping is recommended.  Our favorite Philadelphia boys Drink Up Buttercup are playing at Union Hall and old favorites Shilpa Ray will be at Death By Audio.  Personally, I’ll be going to White Denim at Music Hall of Williamsburg.  But I wanted to go out on a limb tonight and recommend something I’ve never written about before.  In fact, I’d never even heard a song by Eternal Summers until a half hour ago.  I listened to “Able To” on their myspace page and was immediately intrigued.  Poppy, upbeat, but with some unexpected songwriting turns in the end.  I can’t say I know anything about their live show, but they’re from Roanoke, so I say take the night off from all these familiar bands and go see something brand new while they’re in town.  Listen to the track below.
