This show is incredibly sold out, only 100 tickets went on sale in the first place, but I’m recommending it anyways because there are a few people selling tickets on Craigslist. And yes, it will be worth it to meet someone wherever they demand you haul yourself to at whatever very specific time they require tomorrow. It’s the album release show for Beach House’s follow-up to Devotion, Team Dream. You can still listen to it streaming on NPR, and if you’ve already heard it, you know how good it is. Beach House’s dreamy sound has matured, their voices have never sounded better, and this is really a band coming into their own on this album. It’s going to be revered by the press as one of the best things to ever happen; I expect the hype to be Dirty Projectors-level (not sure if I totally agree, but that’s what will go down). And Jana Hunter is a pretty good performer, as well. I suggest making your way over to Craigslist to try to scrape together some tickets so you can say you were at this show in a few months, when everyone will be dying over this album.
