Love Is All did not have the level of energy I was hoping they would at the Knitting Factory last night. To be fair, neither did I. A cold rainy, Sunday night left me feeling tired and ill, despite the fact that I’d been looking forward to this show all weekend. I got hassled at the door for my camera, which had never happened to me at the Knitting Factory before, and despite enjoying the tunes, I had to leave halfway through and cab it home. Not to mention that I missed The Beets and Beach Fossils. It just wasn’t my night. Nor do I think it was Love Is All’s. Despite the fact that the Knitting Factory was the most packed I had ever seen it, it felt like we were getting a lackluster show. The music itself just wasn’t that tight, bass and drum were a bit sloppy, and the energy of the performance felt like they had just gotten off a long plane ride and were really tired. I’m guessing that this is the exception rather than the rule, but aside from a few good saxophone parts and a few songs that hit it right, the music sounded too thin. It just wasn’t destined to be a great night. Photos and MP3 below.
Love Is All:

I got to the door of this show with my 2 friends.
They told me it was +18.
Lie.
It was advertised in Showpaper and it didn’t say +18 on the Knitting Factory website.
Couldn’t hear The Beets but I could see ‘em from the bar door window.
Kinda angry that I couldn’t see Beach Fossils.
Nice photos though.
The Beets play BK a lllloooot.
