Cults. If you haven’t heard their song, “Go Outside,” then it’s definitely worth a listen. It’s delectably infectious, and has been making its way around the Internet like swine flu for the past few months, which is why I haven’t posted it previous to this occasion. Bloggers seem to really be going wild over this band; let’s not get ahead of ourselves. It’s a good track, but that’s it. Still, the band played their first NYC show ever at Mercury Lounge last week, and most reports seem positive. I’d say this is one of those bands where you’ll want to be able to say you saw them way back when they played their second ever New York show at the The Ridgewood Temple. I’ve never seen a show at the Ridgewood Temple, but it’s two stops further into Bushwick than Market Hotel, where the show was originally supposed to take place. The Sundelles are opening, and Sleigh Bells are technically headlining, but I think their music is garbage so I didn’t technically want to recommend them. I’m going to try to go to the show and give them another chance, though. We’ll see. By the by, you can download three free Cults songs here. Enjoy “Go Outside” below.
