Mmmmm, I love me some Golden Girls. Remember how their song “Newports” was on my Favorite Songs of 2010 list? Well, nothing has changed about how I feel about them. When I saw them play live at Glasslands awhile back they were still a little rough around the edges, but in a very good way. And they’re not a New York band, so take the opportunity to see them while they’re in town. There’s another band playing with them- Landlady- that recently sent me this video. I think they’re doing some really great things- playing with vocal ranges and percussion, using jagged guitars to somehow create a folky softness. It’s kind of neat. Death By Audio is well worth checking out this Thursday.
