Another one of our favorites has arrived. I’m not wild about recommending shows at the bigger venues (that’s not really what’s at the essence of this blog, I hope), but it’s so, so satisfying to do when it’s for a tiny band that has finally come into their own. Jana Hunter has been weaving together her intricate guitar melodies for years now, and she’s finally hit it big (relatively so) with her band Lower Dens. Or at least gotten enough well-deserved attention to play her own MHOW show. And with Ducktails opening (who will probably be headlining Bowery before we know it), this is pretty much an unmissable show in a night of great shows. I can’t find out too much about Glory Girls from the interwebs, but I seem to like bands with alliterative G names (Golden Girls), so hey, why not, right?
